Product information
Grade 904L is an unstable low carbon high alloy austenitic stainless steel. The addition of copper to this grade greatly increases its resistance to strong reducing acids, especially sulfuric acid. It is also highly resistant to chloride attack, including pitting/crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.
Weldability
Like ordinary stainless steel,90 4L can be welded in a variety of welding methods. The most commonly used welding method is manual arc welding or inert gas welding, the electrode or wire metal is based on the composition of the base material and the purity is higher, and the content of molybdenum is higher than that of the base material. It is generally not necessary to preheat before welding, but in cold outdoor operations, in order to avoid condensation of water vapor, the joint part or adjacent area can be evenly heated. Note that the local temperature should not exceed 100 ° C, so as not to lead to carbon accumulation and cause intergranular corrosion. Welding time to use small line energy, continuous and fast welding speed. After welding, there is generally no need for heat treatment, if heat treatment is required, it must be heated to 110 0 ~ 1150℃ after rapid cooling.
